LICENSING PRACTICE

The first time the software is run, the user licence is tied to the installed hard drives in the machine on which the software is first used. If you add or change the original hard drive(s), a new licence will be required.

Blancco - Lite

Blancco - Lite is a solution designed for simple erasure needs: 100% secure hard disk erasure for PC or laptop computers with one IDE hard disk drive per computer. A confirmation report is generated after every erasure.

Blancco - Data Cleaner + (BDC+)

Blancco - Data Cleaner+ is licenced per machine. A single licence will allow you to erase a single PC/Laptop/Server with up to 4 SCSI/IDE/USB/Serial ATA (without RAID) hard drives.

A detailed inventory report is created during the erasure, and can include software auditing of the OS and Office packages. The Hardware Functionality Test as an add-on provides information about the main memory, processor, motherboard, and hard drive S.M.A.R.T. Test.

Blancco - Pro

Blancco - Pro is a data erasure solution for the server environment and RAID systems. Extensive server support guarantees high-speed, simultaneous data erasure of up to 16 hard disks of any size per computer server. Blancco – Pro supports SCSI/IDE/USB/Serial ATA and some of the Fibre Channel hard drives. Once the hard disk(s) is/are erased, the software automatically generates a detailed erasure report with hardware asset management information. Hardware Functionality Tests (as an add-on) provides information about the system memory, processor, motherboard and includes hard drive S.M.A.R.T. Test if required.

BlanccoO - LAN Server (BLS)

Blancco - LAN Server provides the all-in-one solution for PC, laptop and server management “in house” within the LAN. The user manages their own erasure tasks and reporting functions by using the advanced features of Blancco – LAN Server. All of the above versions can be can be used with the BLS.

Glossary

Blancco - Data Cleaner (all versions) works by identifying the hard drive(s) within the machine being erased. It allocates the serial number of the hard drive(s) to the licence being used, whether using Blancco - Lite, + or Pro. If the same licence(s) is/are used after the initial erasure was performed, Blancco - Data Cleaner will recognise the original configuration of the machine and allow the erasure to take place as many times as needed during the life of that machine. If you add or replace a hard drive on the original hardware configuration, a new licence will be required.
